For Saturday Scraps this week I’m showing you how to use up doilies on your cards.
I have a bag of doilies in a bunch of different colours. I thought I’d use up a few of them on one card. Here’s the card:
To make this card I cut a 4 x 5.25 in white cardstock rectangle. I chose a few doilies in coordinating colours and began placing them around the card.
I wrapped the doilies around the back of the cardstock, so there would be no rough edges. I chose a white doily for the top so it would stand out.
I used a stamp from DoCrafts Creativity Male Family Sentiments set. It was just luck that it fit in the center of the doily!
To add a bit of interest I threaded a bit of ribbon through the sides of the white doily and also wrapped those around the back.
I adhered this to a teal A2 card base.
Here’s a close up of how great it looks when the different coloured doilies show through each other, creating a great layered look:
If you have projects where you used up some doilies, please share them in the comments below!
Thanks for looking!
